Background/Description of the Disclosure
Please be informed that the Board of Directors of East West Banking Corporation (the “Bank”), at its meeting held on August 27, 2026, approved the appointment of Mr. Jesus Angelo O. Gomez as Head, Consumer Lending Cluster with the rank of Executive Vice President, effective September 8, 2026. Mr. Gomez is a seasoned banking executive with over 28 years of experience in credit risk management, banking operations, analytics, technology, and digital transformation. Prior to joining the Bank, he served as President of Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank. He likewise held senior leadership positions at Bank of the Philippine Islands, BDO Unibank, Inc., and Citibank, N.A., where he led initiatives relating to credit risk, portfolio management, credit operations, and business transformation. The Board believes that Mr. Gomez’s extensive banking experience and leadership expertise will contribute significantly to the Bank’s continued growth and strategic objectives.
