Subject of the Disclosure

Appointment of Maria Rodora “Baby” E. Banares as Acting President and Maria Cristina S. Castillejo as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Corporation.
Background/Description of the Disclosure

Please be informed that during the Meeting of the Board of Directors of I-Remit, Inc. ("Corporation") held on 11 April 2024, Ms. Maria Rodora “Baby” E. Banares was appointed as the Acting President and Ms. Maria Cristina S. Castillejo was appointed as Senior Executive Vice President (“SEVP”) and Chief Operating Officer (“COO”) of the Corporation. Both appointments are effective as of 11 April 2024.

Ms. Banares was appointed Corporation’s Acting President, to serve as such until a new President shall have been duly identified, elected, and qualified. As Acting President, Ms. Banares will provide strategic and financial leadership and overall direction to the business. Her proven track record makes her an excellent fit to lead the Corporation as it continues to achieve goals and drive the company forward.

Ms. Banares has extensive experience in the financial sector, particularly in the banking industry. She handled Senior Management positions in various financial institutions, namely Asiatrust Bank, Federal Savings Bank, and Security Bank Corporation. She worked at Bank of Makati (A Savings Bank), Inc. as Executive Vice President for Business Sector from 2007 to 2010 and President and CEO from 2010 until her retirement in 2017. Even after retirement, she continues to serve as Bank Director and Strategic and Investment Consultant for start-up companies in various sectors such as fintech, equity financing, agri-tourism, etc. She is a Professor at the University of the Philippines (“UP”) Diliman College of Business Administration and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from UP Diliman with a degree in BS Business Administration. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from De La Salle University and in international Contemporary Studies from IPU New Zealand, earned online.

Ms. Castillejo as the Corporation’s SEVP and COO shall oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure the effective execution of the company’s strategic initiatives.

Prior to joining the Corporation, Ms. Castillejo was a Marketing and Training Consultant to several companies namely: Pacific Plans, Inc., APEC Plans, Select Manpower Resources, Sysco Real Estate Development Corporation, Trigoworld Multi-Level Marketing, and Chong Hua Hospital. She has conducted seminars on Creative Salesmanship, Empowered & Inspired Leadership, Team Building & Relationship Management, and Training the Trainer both here and in Malaysia. Her training expertise was honed from her early years of employment with Bob Garon Consultancy, Inc. Before she became a freelance Consultant in 2000, she had 18 years of Training, Sales, and Marketing experience gained from her engagement with Pacific Plans, Inc.

Ms. Castillejo was the Head of I-Remit Global Marketing from 11 January 2011 to 04 March 2024 where she looked after the global marketing requirements of the Corporation (including its Foreign Offices) namely: Brand Management, Product Development, Multi-media and Corporate Communications, Events Management and CSR. On 05 March 2024, she was appointed Officer-in-Charge for the office of the President concurrently with her role as Head of Global Marketing.

She graduated in 1981 from the University of Santo Tomas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
