Clarification of News Report
In response to the Philippine Stock Exchange's (PSE) request for clarification regarding the news article posted on Manila Bulletin on August 22, 2023, in particular the linked news article entitled “Yao gives RC Cola bottler's shares to Macay stockholders” posted in Manila Bulletin (Online Edition) The news item reported in part that: “Beverages tycoon Alfredo Yao is giving away the shares of RC Cola bottler ARC Refreshments Corporation (ARC) to shareholders of his investment arm Macay Holdings Inc. in what may be in preparation for a public listing.. . .. Abacus Securities Corporation said that, ‘in all likelihood, management will apply for ARC's listing by way of introduction with the exchange.’ . . . .” This is to clarify that the board and senior management of Macay Holdings, Inc. ("Macay"), is unaware of any plans, and none has been presented, to list the shares of ARC Refreshments Corporation on the PSE. We trust that the foregoing clarifies the matter. Thank you. Gerardo T.
