Xurpas Enterprise Launches XAIL
Background/Description of the Disclosure

Manila, Philippines – On October 19, 2023, Xurpas Inc. (PSE:X), the Philippines’ only listed technology company, announced the launch of Xurpas Enterprise Inc.’s (XEI) Data Science and Artificial Intelligence business unit, Xurpas AI Lab (XAIL) at the Grand Hyatt Ballroom in BGC. The event, called "Set XAIL Towards Your AI-Enabled Philippine Business," recognized that AI can be a source of sustainable competitive advantage for an enterprise, and many local companies are hungry to understand how they could use data science and AI to grow their businesses.

Hosted by Xurpas Chairman and CEO Joey Gurango, “Set XAIL” focused on the practical benefits and applications of AI in the Philippine context, as well as how local companies can get started on their AI journey, while also touching on global AI trends. The event attracted business leaders and decision-makers from sectors like food & beverage, manufacturing, retail, financial services and IT, reflecting that there’s virtually no industry that is not impacted by AI.

Presentations were conducted by some of the most esteemed data science and AI experts, such as: Professors Erika Fille Legara and Christopher Monterola from the Asian Institute of Management, who talked about AI applications in the Philippines and the transformative nature of large language models (LLM’s) like ChatGPT; Jason Dolorso who discussed the importance of having a sound data management strategy for any AI implementation; Kevin Sison who talked about the path to future innovations with AI; and Andy Garcia, head of XAIL, who offered practical advice on integrating AI into one’s business. There was also a lively panel discussion, which focused on the future of AI in the Philippine context, featuring an interactive Q&A session, underscoring the eagerness of businesses to adopt AI.

The event highlighted XAIL’s mission to assist Philippine companies in using AI to achieve their objectives. XAIL provides data science and AI consulting services, along with a range of AI products, to help its customers leverage the power of their own data with AI to solve real world business problems and unlock opportunities to gain lasting strategic advantages.
