Background/Description of the Disclosure

Please be informed that during its regular meeting held this afternoon, 02 August 2023, the Board of Directors of China Banking Corporation (the "Bank") took up and approved the following matters:

1. Appointment of MR. BERNHARD ALOYSIUS G. TSAI as Head of Market Sales Group under the Financial Markets Segment with the rank of FIRST VICE PRESIDENT II, effective 22 August 2023.

Mr. Tsai, 54, is a seasoned banking professional with over three (3) decades of experience in both multinational and local banks. He has a strong background in institutional sales, vendor marketing, investment banking, portfolio management, investor relations, corporate planning, treasury, syndication and distribution, digital marketing, operational strategies and securities brokerage. He is currently the Chief Operating Officer of BDO Securities Corporation. He previously held key leadership roles in BDO Unibank, Inc., Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, Standard Chartered Bank - Malaysia Berhad and Manila, Banco Santander Philippines, Inc. and Citibank N.A., among others.

Mr. Tsai graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics. He is a Certified Treasury Professional, Licensed SEC Fixed Income Salesperson and Equity Broker.

2. Promotion of the following Bank officers, effective 16 August 2023:

a. MR. HARVEY L. TY, Head of Treasury Retail Sales Division under the Financial Markets Segment, from Vice President II to FIRST VICE PRESIDENT I;

b. MS. LOVE VIRGILYNN T. BAKING, Head of Institutional Fixed Income Sales Division under the Financial Markets Segment, from Vice President II to FIRST VICE PRESIDENT I; and

c. MS. MARY ANN T. LIM, Trust Officer and Head of Trust and Asset Management Group, from First Vice President I to FIRST VICE PRESIDENT II.
